My Final Reflection
As I approach graduation, my primary goal has been to find a program that bridges my academic interests with my professional ambitions. While Sheridan College offers a highly creative environment and Uppsala University carries historic prestige, Skövde stands out as a specialized hub for the European game industry. Its industry-integrated approach and strong connections, particularly with the Game Arena, give students the opportunity to use advanced equipment and network directly with professionals. This is crucial because it ensures the curriculum is built around the realities of modern game production, which greatly increase the chances of successfully working in the gaming industry after graduation.
Even though prestige and industry connections are important, the financial aspect is an important factor in my decision. Compared to my other international options, Skövde is the most economically viable choice for me. The balance of high-quality, specialised education with a much more practical financial plan makes studying in Sweden the smartest route for my future.
Lastly, the multidisciplinary, hands-on mindset that Skövde instills in its students perfectly aligns with my long-term dream. I want to create meaningful games, and Skövde provides the ideal environment to synthesise my technical foundation in programming with my passion for digital drawing, character design, and narrative storytelling. It is the perfect place to learn how to actively build the interactive experiences I want to bring to the world.
